Now Accepting Entries in These Categories:

Feature Film:
Duration: 12 to 18 minutes
Films should highlight fly-fishing themes such as adventure, travel, conservation, and related stories. Please note that purely instructional or “how-to” fly-fishing films are not suited for the festival environment.

Short Film:
Duration: 7 to 11 minutes
Films should explore fly-fishing subjects including adventure, travel, conservation, and stories. Again, purely instructional “how-to” fly-fishing films are not appropriate for the festival.


Important Dates:

  • Rough-Cut Submission Deadline: October 31, 2025

  • Official Selection Notification: November 4, 2025

  • Final Submission Package Due: November 15, 2025

Submission Guidelines:

  • All entries must be submitted by the legal owner(s) or authorized agents with full rights to all content, including royalty-free rights to footage, graphics, and music.
  • Submissions are accepted from individuals and production companies alike.

  • Films must not depict illegal, irresponsible, or unethical behavior or activities.

  • Content referencing non-conservation-minded or offensive practices is strictly prohibited.

  • Final submission packages must include: Finished film file, trailer file, two or more short promotional clips (10-15 seconds each), 20 high-resolution images, film synopsis (3-5 sentences), short story (800 words), film title, licensing documentation for your submission

Technical Specifications:

  • Accepted file formats: 1080p30 or 1080p24, H.264 encoded .MP4 or .MOV

  • Bitrate: 20-30 Mbps recommended (higher is better)

  • Files must be progressive scan (no interlaced footage accepted)

  • Aspect ratio: 16:9 or widescreen only (3:4 or 3:2 will be rejected)

  • Audio levels must be normalized: peaks no higher than -2 dB and no important audio below -18 dB; dialogue must be clearly audible over background music

  • Sponsor logos or branding are allowed only in end credits and must not exceed 20 seconds in length

  • All content must be original and exclusive to IF4
